Truth & Training (3rd – 5th grade)

Truth & Training teaches kids the truth of God’s Word and trains them to follow God and practice His grace.  There are four books in order:

  • 1st and 3rd books teach doctrine
  • 2nd and 4th books teach application

A new third or fourth grader will start in the Ultimate Adventure Book One, but only a fourth grader may move into Book Two.  A new fifth- or sixth-grader will start in the Ultimate Challenge Book One, but only a sixth-grader may move into Book Two.

Club Hour 7:00PM – 8:30PM, Wednesday

Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15)

We are inviting all children, even if they are not members of SHINING STAR COMMUNITY CHURCH, to Awana, where they can learn the Word of God and develop physical and spiritual fellowships through various games.

Founded in 1950 in a Chicago church, Awana is a ministry that helps children from ages 2 through 18 grow strongly in faith. The name AWANA comes from the phrase “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” from 2 Timothy 2:15. The goal of Awana is to help children discover more about God through memorizing the Word of God: Bible memorization is the heart of the program
